HOUSING COURT
LAWYER FOR A DAY
The Lawyer for a Day program in Housing Court is a collaboration involving the HCLC, the Women’s Bar Foundation, MassMutual, Community Legal Aid, and Western New England School of Law. The court refers self-represented tenants and landlords with summary process cases scheduled on that day to the Housing Court Lawyer for a Day program. Community Legal Aid staff attorneys and paralegals, volunteer attorneys, law students, and other advocates provide a range of legal help, including:
-
Accessing and applying for community resources, including rental assistance
-
Advice and counsel
-
Preparing court forms such as Answers and Motions to Remove Default
-
Representation in mediation or court hearings.

If you do not have a matter before the Court yet and are looking for out-of-court brief legal advice, please read more about our Landlord/Tenant Lawyer for a Day .

If you are looking for full representation, please consider the Hampden County Bar Association's Lawyer Referral and Information Service "LRIS" for additional legal services.
